Lakota Optimists Name Teens of the Month

Megan Dillon of Lakota West and Monet Froslear of Lakota East were selected by the Lakota Optimist Club as Junior Teenagers of the Month for March. 

Megan, daughter of Mark and Susan Dillon, is extremely involved in Lakota West's student leadership opportunities.  To underscore her leadership abilities, she is currently serving as the student government secretary and the vice president of the Choir Council.  Being an "impact person" for her fellow students, Megan is working on the Junior Class Prom Committee and serving in the PRIDE anti drug organization, in addition to already having chaired the Homecoming Decorations Committee. She is also an active member of the Multi-Cultural Club, Junior Statesman of America and Students on Stage.  This past fall, Ms. Dillon served as a co-chair on the Organizational Committee for the West Chester Fire Department's annual Haunted Trail" at Keehner Park.

Her hobbies include boating, reading, spending time with children, attending U.K. football games with her dad, and enjoying her friends. Despite a wide variety of school and volunteer activities, Megan is outstanding in the classroom and plays a critical student leadership role at Lakota West. Upon graduation from Lakota East, Megan is looking toward attending the University of Kentucky and is undecided on a field of study.

Monet, daughter of Clyde and Nancy Froslear, is another outstanding Lakota East student with a strong diversity in her activities.  While participating in the Thunderhawk Marching Band, she provides musical leadership a section leader.  Ms. Froslear is a member of the Lakota East Symphonic Winds, where she plays the clarinet.  She is an active member of the award winning, "Spark" student magazine staff. Monet has thoroughly enjoyed her role as an attorney in the Lakota East Mock Trial program. With a wide range of time consuming school and community activities, Monet is equally accomplished in the classroom, maintaining a straight "A" throughout her high school career. Upon her graduation from Lakota East, she will pursue a degree in chemistry with an eye on the field of medicine as a possible career path.
