Purposes of an Optimist Club

To develop optimism as a philosophy of life;
To promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs;
To inspire respect for law;
To promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people;
To aid and encourage the development of youth;

In the belief that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of man, his community, and the world.
Optimist Mission Statement

To foster an optimistic way of life for the improvement of individuals and society, through local Optimist Clubs dedicated to ever-expanding service to youth, community, and the world.
Optimist Vision Statement

Optimist International will be recognized throughout the world as the premier international organization providing opportunities for personal growth and fellowship for its members and for service to its communities.
The Lakota Optimist Club meets every Saturday.  The Club is currently meeting at the Lakota Family YMCA on Yankee Road in Liberty Township, Ohio. Meetings start at 9:00 am and usually last about an hour. Attendance is optional, although encouraged. Meetings are informal and dress is casual.   

Optimist Clubs have a Creed that our actions are based on. Optimist Clubs are the 'Friend of Youth' and our activities reflect that focus. Membership is open to Men and Women who share our goal of improving the lives of our local youth.

The Lakota Optimist Club sponsors and supports several programs in our local area. These programs focus on the youth of Lakota community.
